TRON (TRX) is a blockchain launched in 2017 by Justin Sun, focused on decentralized content and entertainment. It uses Delegated Proof of Stake with 27 "Super Representatives" who validate blocks. TRON is best known today for being the dominant network for USDT transfers — roughly half of all Tether supply circulates on TRON thanks to near-zero fees and instant transactions, making it the preferred infrastructure for remittances and exchange flows. TRON's 2018 acquisition of BitTorrent strengthened the ecosystem. TRX is used to pay fees ("bandwidth" and "energy") and to vote for Super Representatives.
