概要 · USD Coin

USD Coin (USDC) is a US dollar-backed stablecoin launched in 2018 by Circle (in partnership with Coinbase via the Centre consortium). Each USDC is supposed to be backed by a dollar or equivalent (short-term US Treasury bills, cash) held at regulated US banks. Circle publishes monthly attestations of its reserves. USDC is widely seen as more transparent than Tether and is heavily used across DeFi on Ethereum, Solana, Base, Polygon, etc. It exists on 15+ chains. In March 2023, USDC briefly lost its peg (~$0.87) after the failure of Silicon Valley Bank, where Circle held ~$3.3 billion — but it quickly recovered once deposits were guaranteed.
