The format
Pose: "would you rather X or Y?" The more radical the options, the harder the debate. Sweet spot: both options equally bad (or equally great). Reveals real preferences.
Level 1: funny would-you-rather
Safe group play: "fly or be invisible?", "know the future or change the past?". 10-min debate, perfect icebreaker for start of evening or meeting.
Level 2: dilemma would-you-rather
Real dilemmas: "lose your phone for 1 year or your dog for 1 month?", "change your first or last name?", "50 years rich then poor or rich/poor alternating?". Hits values. Best for tight friend groups.
